Thank you for your nice kastellorizo site. It brings back a lot of
good memories.

This island is special- perhaps you should take off the page from the internet
to help to preserve kastellorizo as is.

Anyway- take care........

Thanks for you wake me up again.
I have visit this beautyful island once, but it was unfortnaly long time ago.
1992 I was sitting on the other side of Greece (Korfu) and read a book over all
island and then a found this place. It took me 3 days from Korfu to
Kastellorizo, but I can promise you every minute was worth this. I have visit
around 25 different island and Kastellorizo is on top 3 list, or let me say it
is no 1. When I found this site with all beautyful photos then I decide to go
back again next year.
Thanks again, I will try later to send more information from my trip 1992

A very interesting web-site, for a very special reason: My father,
having finished his studies in electro engineering in Danzig/Hannover, was

unable to find a suitable job in Norway, and finally wound up in Kastellorizo in
1928, where he helped constructing an electrical power station, a refinery for
olive oil, etc. In 1930, my mother joined him in Athens, where they got married
at the Norwegian Embassy. The set up a modest home in Kastellorizo, and my
oldest sister was born there in 1931. When I was "under way" in 1932, my mother
found it too difficult to stay on with 2 babies under the somewhat primitive
conditions, and she returned to Norway in the autumn of 1932, whereupon I was
born in december that year. It was my parents' intention that my father was to
follow as soon as he could get a decent job at home, but it took him 4 years! My
father died in 1963, never being able to fulfill his dream of revisiting the
island. My mother, however, at the age of 78, went back for a fortnight's visit
in 1978, on what she called "a sentimental journey".

My mother and mother in law, were born on Kastellorizo. My husband,
two teenage children and I, visited for the first time in June this year 2006,
the emotions that we felt visiting Kastellerizo were incredible. We had grown up
with stories and photographs about the island. It is such a beautiful little
island with so much history. We all can't wait to revisit

Hi all! Unfortunately, due to business affairs, I was unable to travel to Kastellorizo to observe the solar eclipse phenomenon. However, I have to admit that the TV coverage from the island was satisfactory. Especially, when at the peak of the effect, the residents turned their house lights on. An incident of amazing beauty. Those who attended the event must have had the time of their lives.

I'm preparing it just on my free time so it's still under construction but my target is to complete it soonest by inserting a lot of old hystorical photos of Kastellorizo and putting an English version since by now site is just expressed in Italian language. Bye to new Kastellorizian generation all over the world.

My husband and I visited Kastellorizo this summer. It was very emotional to say the least. I am 57 years old and the last time I was in Kastellorizo I was six, in 1952 when I went with my parents. At that time I was living in Egypt where my grandparents immigrated to coming from Kastellorizo. Now that I am a retired educator and can travel, I know that I will be visiting Kastellorizo every year. I shall go there next year the first two weeks in September to celebrate the liberation of the island on the 13th of September. Your site is amazing. Thank you, from snowy Toronto. Eleni.
